St. Patrick’s Day for the rest of us

So tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, which in years past has meant “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” t-shirts, maybe a green wig, definitely a green beer, and goodness knows what else. It was a time to let loose and have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I remember those St. Paddy’s Days fondly, but as time has gone by, I’ve found my celebrations to be more and more refined, less extreme, and definitely minus the green wig. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t still want to celebrate my roots, the day, and participate in the celebration. How do the rest of us keep festive without going overboard? Shamrock lapel pins.

This year I plan on putting on my four leaf clover pin, so that even if nothing else on me screams “Irish!” that at least keeps me in the spirit. They’re a good option for people who have to work on St. Patrick’s day-and don’t work at a bar-for St. Patrick’s Day party favors that people are likely to keep and wear year after year, or to give away at parades. Shamrock lapel pins look just as nice on a gentleman as on a lady, and they’re inexpensive, so you can buy extras and give them to friends and family.

Whatever your plans may be, we at Pinmart hope they’re fun, festive, and safe! As for me, I’m going to stay close to home, but I’ll certainly be wearing my shamrock lapel pin, and chance are I’ll still have at least one green beer. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
