I doubt that anyone born after 1995 or so will ever forget what happened to our country on 9-11-2001. Just the mention of the date 9-11 brings an immediate jolt to our collective memories.
As the ten year anniversary of this tragic date approaches you can’t help but notice the myriad of ways that business are trying to sell you a piece of the 9-11 memory. Some may say this is trying to profit off the tragedies of others; but I don’t quite see it that way. After all we carry a line of September 11th Commemorative Items ourselves. We do it because we are a for profit company; and we do it because our customer want us to.
Over the past 10 years we have sold hundreds of thousands of 9-11 related pins and merchandise. We have also donated thousands of dollars to 9-11 awareness causes and non-profits. However the important thing to note here is that people are using these products as a means to heal, commemorate, fundraise, or remember. If we can be a part of that while at the same time providing jobs for the good of our employees and their families than who can complain about that?
